Ruby Javed, Ph.D.
Director of Forensic Laboratories and Expert in Forensic Toxicology

I have over 18 years of experience in forensics, specifically as a manager and director of forensic laboratories. I have worked in both the public and private sectors on both the East and West coasts serving as an expert witness in civil and criminal cases for death investigations and employee drug testing cases. I have written numerous expert opinion reports that have served to prosecute individuals that have broken laws through consultation and in-depth review of case reports and testimony of scientific testing results. My experience as the Chief of Forensic Laboratories in Los Angeles County has exposed me to the complexities of high-profile cases that involve deeper levels of communications due to the public interest of these cases. Regardless of the case type, it is always my mission to handle each investigation and review with the utmost quality that abide by national standards provided through valid accreditations and sound forensic laboratory testing parameters.

I have advanced knowledge of Toxicology and understanding the pharmacokintetic and pharmacodynamic principles of drugs including the cellular pathways involved with opioid tolerance and physical dependence. The recent rise in synthetic drugs and the number of overdose-related deaths due to these drugs particularly regarding the illicitly manufactured production of Fentanyl, has driven my focus to educate children, adults, community groups, families, attorneys, stakeholders and other agencies alike about the serious dangers of this new drug trend. My education and experience provide the best resource to explain what evolves in the field and how it impacts communities across the world.
